2021 REDEFINING NEIGHBOR

So often  when we think of the term neighbor, we think of those that live around or are in close proximity to us geographically. However when Jesus calls us to recognize our neighbors he speaks of those that may or may not live close to us, share our backgrounds or ethnicities, or even practice our beliefs systems. He points to the wider audience that is intended to be the recipient of the loving care of God. As we seek to redefine neighbor, we will pursue ministry in spaces that we may not have historically served. There will be a greater emphasis on the community, city, state and region around us. Let us prepare to welcome and serve those around us in a way that will clearly inform them of our intent to no longer engage them as strangers, but neighbors, friends and family.
